Situated near the homestead is Packhorse Cottage - a very comfortable self-contained cottage. This building is a converted musterers hut built in the early 1900s, and has been recently refurbished to offer you farmstay accommodation in modern facilities in an historic setting.

The Rowley family has been farming Lake Hawea Station since 1912 and Tom and Adrienne have 3 sons all whom are passionate about their heritage. There are 8000 Merino sheep and 350 beef cattle. The station, comprising of 6000 hectares, is mainly high country ranging from lake level to 5,000 feet.
